Rev. jeff courtier

Celebrate Recovery Pastor

Jeff Courtier was born in Douglas, Wyoming on 7/7/77. He moved around a lot as a kid and went to multiple schools. One of his favorite places to live was in Portland, Oregon. He eventually graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1994. His journey moved him on while bringing him back to Scottsbluff in 2001.

Jeff grew up in a broken; as a result, he was in and out of trouble. He did not see any hope and honestly did not think he would make it past the age of 18. God had other plans, and at the age of 25, he could no longer say there wasn’t a God. He had an encounter that changed his life forever.

Jeff is our Celebrate Recovery Director and Assistant Pastor. He is very active in our community while sitting on a board for Region 1 and the Substance Abuse Advisory Board for the State of Nebraska. He is employed part-time at the Scottsbluff County Detention Center as the Lead Religious Coordinator. He meets his bride Brandy in Scottsbluff. They have been married 13 years and have two boys, Jay-Cee (14) and Bryce (7).

Mike Erdman

Worship Pastor

Mike Erdman was born in Scottsbluff, NE, in 1982. At 18 years old, he moved away to Laramie Wy to start college and decided that he would live out the story of the prodigal son.

Many years were running away from God and doing his own thing until one day; he met a man who started to show Michael the love of Jesus through it all in Douglas, Wy. Michael began to study the Word and to learn who Jesus is and began to enter into the community of a local church in Douglas. He met a beautiful woman named Jamie, who eventually became his wife and started walking through the healing process. Together they have five beautiful and challenging children.

Michael started to say “yes” to Jesus in little ways, starting with volunteering on the worship team to play bass at the Gathering in Douglas, stepping into youth ministry, and helping with events. Small, simple things God has asked him to do have become stepping stones to lead him to the next place that God is leading, and that ended up being back home in Scottsbluff, NE, at the Rock as the worship pastor. I’ve never looked for the positions that I have, but God keeps leading me, and I pray and ask for His advice in all things, and He never ceases to amaze me in His plan for my and my family’s life.

I still have much to learn, and I know that God is always showing me who He is, but I am excited to see that He is doing great things. I Praise God for what He has brought me out of and for where He is taking me. God is Good!
